The spring drives you outside, to feel the warmth of the sun and the freshness of the air. Hardly will even the most devoted players pull their PCs or consoles out; but we’ve also got mobiles. Here are the five Android games to take with you wherever you go this spring.
PUBG is what defined 2018 action games. Chinese developers and publishers hit the bull’s eye with it. Simple action gameplay with anyone versus everyone else, a fair start for anyone, and no bonuses for those who pay: it was the sort of justice the community demanded. PUBG crafted a basic scheme to follow, with a battle on an island, weapons to be found, a shrinking battlefield, and a third-person view from over the shoulder. Most BR games copy this scheme, but only Fortnite became a serious rival.
Asphalt 9: Legends
Though this game was released in 2018, it’s got major updates in 2019, and it’s still the best option for those into racing. Asphalt is too glamorous to be realistic, too safe to be called a simulator, too fairy and shiny to stay unnoticed, and too speedy to help it.
But what luxurious cars it features! What exotic tracks you hit! How authentically the engines roar! How the wheels raise the dust! And how brilliantly it’s made, with the sun shining on chrome, tires melting, and you can almost smell gasoline in the air!
This is an adventure game based on snowboarding, the sequel to the famous Alto’s Adventure. This time the brave snowboarder explores the desert, with its sands, heat, and dangers. But sand is no worse than snow when it comes to boarding. Other tricky adventures follow, so here come aerostats, dunes, oases, lost temples, and all that stuff we love from Indy to Lara.
The game is among the best arcade-based adventure projects, with everything made perfect, from storyline to voicing and music, from visuals to physics. Its core is an ordinary side scroller, but the developers managed to build a whole story upon this base, and it fascinates. Each level can be replayed if you want to improve your result. Along with making it to the finish, you need to complete side quests for more points.
HQ - Trivia & Words
If this crazy spring makes you constantly check your head to prevent its loss, HQ Trivia & Words is the perfect way to keep it in its place. This game combines online quizzes and word puzzles, checking both your knowledge and your lexicon and literacy, along with mind alertness.
Looks like some TV show with good prizes and incredibly stupid players, right? Come on and play it, but remember: everyone gets smarter outside the studio. So you’re still on par with your rivals. The TV experience is enhanced by scheduled live shows with celebrity participants, so watching can be as much fun as playing.
Sky Force Reloaded
It’s a nostalgic vertical scrolling shooter, reminding of the 1980’s arcade machines. You pilot a small futuristic fighter over the enemy positions, destroying every hostile object and saving the civilians from this burning hell. The developers put maximum effort to show how those old games should look with decent quality graphics. Sky Force Reloaded is probably the best of the series, with drastic contrast between ancient gameplay and the most modern detailed visuals and elaborate sounds.
Yes, we know there’s been more decent games even among the premieres. There was only one criterion: what got the author hooked more than the others stayed. It’s subjective, yes, but that was the only way to select the five.
